Islamic School children

Location: International Islamic school, Kota Damansara

When i first encounter school teaching, i was stunned. It is the first time i encounter 10- 15 student within a class, it almost cause severe head damage to me. I cant even control them before i can teach them...It is a real challenge to me and in fact is good for me....From the beginning, i teach them at shallow pool...What i focus on is always breathing, normal breath in swimming is the most important approach....To let them get used to the reversed breathing method (), i keep teach them bubbling underwater ....repeat repeat and repeat...Then paddle paddle and paddle...just wanna keep them moving, but actually they'll still moving even though i told them to freeze!!!...That the hard part.....Anyway, i can understand their natural hyperactive, because I'll do the same when i was in the same age as them....ha ha..

After being trained by experience instructor, i start to have a directive order toward what I've encounter. Thanks to Bernard and Peter for their essence teaching. Controlling a class before teaching is the priority. Then apply a systematic teaching, additional of games and jokes.......Perfect...Straight order and acting fast is essential. Being innovative is very important in teaching. Always out thinking something new to surprise your children...he he...

I'm actually teaching boy and girl but in separated day, because boy and girl can't join together to learn....common sense because I'm teaching Islamic school... This International Islamic school is actually quite open minded, in order to teach them swim, i have to hold them and do demonstration in order to let them learn the proper way....and that is an art of motion....

After teaching for a few month, starting to realize that girls are learning faster than boy. There are several reason for this fact. First of all, boy are more active and lack in following orders. Second, girls have physical advantage in learning this kind of relaxing movement...But anyway, there is always an exception too...so be flexible in teaching as well....

Instead of a teacher, being friend with your student is more interesting, know their name, their interest, their activity during holiday...They find it very excited to tell you that he/she is going somewhere during holiday....finally you'll get respect from them not because you're straight and too 'scary' but you're a teacher that cares...Just little bit of experiences here....love it..
